Forrest Folen Forrest
has a very unique training style that consists of dynamic full body workouts that
focus on developing abdominal and core strength. For example, instead of doing
traditional bench presses with his clients, he incorporates a stability ball and
uses dumbbells to add the development of core strength and neuromuscular functioning.
"Getting the core muscles to fire correctly adds functional stability to every
motion you do in your day-to-day life." Forrest makes use of the machines
in the facility, and at the same time expresses the importance of knowing how
to use the most important machine, your body. "I like to incorporate fitness bands,
free weights, balance boards, medicine balls, martial arts or boxing techniques,
BOSU's, a step, plyometrics and anything else that will engage my client to become
more proficient at using and strengthening their body. I put a lot of emphasis
on control and being able to use breathing in unison with a movement, exercise
or posture. I draw upon my background in martial arts and meditation to teach
clients how to engage their bodies with a deeper level of awareness." Forrest
also continuously educates himself and believes in empowering his clients with
the knowledge and information to help them reach their goals. Forrest knows that
the hardest part of retaining fitness as a lifestyle is to be able to be consistent
and not give up. Because of this, Forrest strives to make each session a fun,
challenging and memorable experience so his clients will value healthy living
and be able to enjoy life to it's fullest. |
